Welcome to Organization Libanda

Libanda is an independent organization founded by a Congolese woman, driven by a deep patriotism for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It is dedicated to uncovering and addressing unreported conflicts and human rights abuses that have occurred over the past 31 years in the DRC. Additionally, Libanda investigates ongoing criminal cases affecting the Congolese people. Countless Congolese people have suffered from crimes and abuses that have yet to be acknowledged or justice served.

Libanda's mission is to prioritize the voices of victims and support their right to justice. The organization recognizes the widespread yet unrecorded atrocities experienced by millions of Congolese, including horrific injustices. As a charitable entity, Libanda offers hope to the community, striving to restore resilience and dignity to those who have endured trauma and neglect for over three decades.

Following recent peace negotiations facilitated by the United States, there is renewed hope among Congolese civilians for a fresh start and opportunities for rebuilding their lives. However, ongoing illegal occupations, notably by Rwanda since 1994, have greatly contributed to injustice, violence, and suffering in Congo. These conflicts have resulted in severe crimes such as rape, modern-day slavery, ethnic cleansing, and warfare, leading to over six million recorded and unrecorded deaths.

Libanda aims to seek justice for all Congolese victims of torture and injustice. Its focus is solely on combating humanitarian crimes and corruption, exposing infiltration, and promoting coexistence between Congolese communities and other groups involved in illegal occupations who have yet to be held accountable. The organization is dedicated to amplifying the voices of the people and fostering safety, fairness, and human rights within the DRC.

Background & Ethics

Libanda is established that was created to address the longstanding lack of acknowledgment of the struggles experienced by the Congolese people throughout history. Congolese civilians have endured ongoing brutality and injustice from 1885 to the present day, making their suffering a continuous part of their history and reality .

The Congolese population has consistently been a victim of criminal injustice, often linked to social and political inequalities. These injustices have led to severe violations of human rights. Unfortunately, the African Union (AU) currently lacks robust mechanisms aligned with comprehensive international human rights standards to adequately protect Africans. Although some initiatives have been proposed, Libanda recognizes that these measures have failed to sufficiently safeguard the Congolese people.

Leaders and institutions have historically neglected the rights of congolese people. For example, the Congolese people have been underrepresented in efforts to justify and uphold human rights. While some legislation exists to promote safety, most African interventions have failed to effectively support Congolese civilians. This is evident in the limited impact of frameworks such as the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, the African Commission, and the African Court.

The protocols established by African unions have often fallen short of delivering justice for the Congolese population. In response, Libanda has created a dedicated Congolese department tasked with monitoring and addressing criminal cases involving victims who require acknowledgment and justice.

Due to the horrific events stemming from social and political inequalities, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has suffered numerous atrocities throughout its history and present day which are listed below :

- Invasions (such as the occupation of foreigners)

- Wars and conflicts

- Ethnic cleansing

- Rape and sexual violence

- Past and modern slavery, including forced labor

- Illegal child labor

- Child abuse

- Discrimination

- Institutional abuse

- Domestic violence

- and many other yet-to-be-identified crimes.

Most of these crimes have yet to be acknowledged, and the Congolese people currently lacks an effective organization dedicated to prioritizing and addressing their needs. Therefore, Libanda will collaborate with highly trained professionals and organizations, working closely with local communities to promote justice and support for the Congolese people.

In 2025, President Felix Tshisekedi of DRC successfully brokered a peace agreement with the United States—known as the Washington Accord—ending decades- of long conflict with Rwanda that dates back to 1994. The peace treaty, signed on June 27, 2025, in Washington, D.C., offers hope and renewed optimism for the Congolese people.

Libanda is committed to supporting the Congolese people by investigating and reporting crimes both of past and present. We aim to listen to the Congoleses people concerns and promote justice within Congolese society.
